Pronunciation rules:
- Use the US spellings of words to translate them correctly, as other dialects are not supported. (Example: "Liter" instead of "Litre")
- E is silent if at the end of a word and after two repeating letters. (Example: Dejualle) This is often used for country names ending in consonant sounds.
- "é" is pronounced as "ay".
- "e" makes an "eh" sound, like in "eh, no".
- "x" is pronounced as "sh".
- "c" is pronounced as "ch".
- "í" is pronounced as "ee".
- "ð" is pronounced as "th" as in "thing".
- "þ" is pronounced as "th" as in "the".
- "á" is pronounced as the first A in "Canada".
- "ó" is pronounced as "au" as in "audio".
- "ú" is pronounced as "o" as in "lose".
History:
Dejuallic wasn't supposed to be an actual language, rather a hybrid of different Tojelic languages to be used as a bridge language. It ended up not only being a bridge Tojelic-type language, but due to how close it is to our own European languages it was used in the interstellar Dejuallic union as the official language instead of Tojelic since English was already widespread in the empire.
Fun facts:
Dejuallic can sound similar to Ghaondian if you think about it.
