English to Slugspeak (Translator by Popsicle; language by Silver)

Slugspeak is a made-up language made to imagine how the slugcats of Rain World would speak if they had a proper native language. The language is derived from Slugsign, a slugcat sign language made by Bitsbug on Tumblr. It was then adapted into a proper spoken language by Silver (Mr. Gourmand) of the Rain World: Animated Discord server. Since then, the language has been growing and growing. Our goal is to allow this small conlang to develop and become a real, fully-usable language!

**Due to some issues with synonyms, reverse translation may not always be fully accurate.

IMPORTANT: it should be known that Slugspeak is intended to be used in ways the translator cannot explicitly tell you. I intend to write a document explaining this in detail, but have not yet. In short, there is more to this language than its base translations. [As a quick example, while there is no word for parent, a slugcat could refer to their parent as “wi wawavow” (my slugcat). Wawavow is not a direct translation of parent, but in slugcat culture, it works in context.]

IMPORTANT: When translating English to Slugspeak, do not use articles (a/an/the) in sentences! Slugspeak does NOT use articles, so attempting to translate them will cause confusion! For example, if you want to say “I am a slugcat,” you will have to write it as “I am slugcat.” Sorry for any potential inconvenience caused by this!

Note: I would not recommend using the “Create random sentence” button, as that will use words which slugcats would not realistically use (cabinet, for example) and would thus not have a translation for. Although, if you do use that and come across a more common word that doesn’t translate, please do leave a suggestion!

And yes, I do read and consider all of your suggestions, so please stop spamming the suggestion box with “teach us Slugspeak swears,” S0LAR. The F-word is howfa, the S-word is feg, and you can find the slur against purposed organisms by simply typing “slur” into the translator. Happy?
