Hello o/ I roleplay a lot, and I really like being able to translate and actually use language in my roleplay. I created this translator based on an actual-ish language system I made for gol'kaa based entirely on canon descriptions of the language. I first created the words and phonetic structure using the Seshat language workshop, which I used to generate (non-AI, algorithmic generation) the first 645 main words based on consonants and vowels allowed, phrases, word structure etcetera, basically its about as hyper-accurate to Canon as you can get as far as how the language "sounds" ((I love seshat..))
Afterwards, I organized it into a google document with the details of the language system, including things like how gol'kaa doesn't use articles, like "a", "an" and "the", which are omitted in this translator too.
And then yes, I used chatGPT to assist in generating the remaining words. I picked categories and expanded it bit by bit and then started throwing dialogue at it in large batches, until it was well over a thousand words. I am slowly expanding it until I can reach something at least generally conversational without untranslated words happening in the middle.

Goliath society is clan-oriented, competitive, pragmatic, and strongly shaped by survival in harsh alpine environments. Gol-Kaa was historically unwritten; later speakers sometimes represented it using the Dwarven alphabet.
Gol-Kaa is the traditional language of the goliaths. It developed primarily as an oral language and reflects a culture where clan identity, personal achievement, competition, survival, and communal responsibility are important. Its small sound inventory produces comparatively long words and names. Speech is direct and generally favors active constructions. Traditional Gol-Kaa has no grammatical articles equivalent to English “a,” “an,” or “the,” and nouns do not possess grammatical gender. Modifiers generally precede the words they describe. Past, present, and future distinctions exist. Gol-Kaa was historically unwritten, although some goliaths later adopted the Dwarven alphabet to represent it.
