Proto-Nostratic is a hypothetical ancestral language (proto-language) of the proposed Nostratic language family, a "superfamily" hypothesized to connect major language groups like Indo-European, Uralic, Altaic, Kartvelian, and others. Generally considered a fringe theory with low mainstream support, it is suggested to have been spoken around 15,000–12,000 BCE in Eurasia.
